Pack your wedding crew and head to Greece’s largest, and most cosmopolitan island, might as well be the trigger behind this gorgeous classic Crete wedding at Elounda Beach Hotel and Villas. Think Maldive-like rolling surrounds, flaxen blond beaches and cerulean seas in a tranquil haven made for romance, and you’ll find why this particular location served as the most awesome lure for Alexandra and Angelo. And if you also happen to be dreaming of huddles of silk, luscious white blooms, and heart-stopping details we’re pretty certain your heart, just like ours will flutter for Crete!
«Crete has always been special to me. It was the first place I ever went to in Greece, when I was 12 and the place I insisted had to be mine and Angelo’s first holiday. It is where I fell in love with Greece. And when Angelo and I traveled there together he fell in love with Crete too and it became a special place to us.
The specific location of Elounda Beach Hotel and Villas was one of the suggestions of our wedding planners at Naido Weddings. And we knew it was the place for us. Of all places Elounda was exactly where I first stayed in Crete so it felt very much meant to be. And the venue looked so stunning on the photos. We completely fell in love.»
These are the words of our lovely bride Alexandra which summarize the epitome of this uber cute wedding and couple. The entire guest list stayed at the beachfront Elounda Beach and shared a common vacation practically rather than just a wedding celebration. The ceremony took place right at the crystalline waters of the private bay and beach of the hotel and the dinner on a deck right near the waves – so close that the couple arrived on a traditional Greek fishing caique.
For the decoration and theme, we went for simple, natural colours, whites and olive greens with a touch of gold so as to honor the ancient Greek heritage. Elements of Greece and Crete in particular were incorporated all over the wedding, from the wreaths on the cake to the local herbs and little olive oil bottles on the tables as take away gifts, and from the white gold cutlery and tableware to the tall centerpieces and color palette of green in the entire design.
The party went on till late after midnight right next to the sea and guests enjoyed a true heartfelt Cretan hospitality and cuisine, not wanting to leave this seaside paradise a couple of days later.
